My first DIY post - Light Switch Covers!

This is my first attempt at my first DIY post! Now that we have a house, I am gradually becoming unlazy....gradually, and i'm going to start Pinterest projects. My first Pinterest project is our light switch covers. Because our money is tight right now instead of going out and buying everything new we are working with what we have! The covers that the house already had, are off-white/cream colored and everything we have is white so I saw on Pinterest to just cover them with fabric or scrapbook paper...I chose the scrapbook paper because it's way cheaper then fabric! I thought of each room and what color/pattern I wanted that room to have! Let's be honest, everyone knows how obsessed I am with Chevron, soo 5 out of the 8 rooms are Chevron print! :( SO...what I did was traced the outline of each cover, using the backside of the paper, but cut out extra so I could wrap it around the edges...

(Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest, I used my phone because it was right next to me...again, the laziness is showing) I literally wrapped each cover like a present and used tiny pieces of tape to hold it down until it hits the wall!

Then to cut out the switch holes I used a small razor blade that Stefan had from his tool box! It was a lot easier then scissors because of how small the holes are.
I just stuck the screw through the hole it goes in to make the screw holes, there is no need to waste time trying to cut out a tiny hole.

and that's it!! Now we just need to get our outlets and switches changed to white and not off-white/cream so it will look even better!! (:

This is the pattern I decided on for our living room! I haven't done all the rooms yet because I ran out of time last night when I was working on them! But it's been fun, easy, and super cheap!!

Oh my god! Those are the cutest switch covers I have ever seen. They're totally cute that they are covered with those colored papers. You can choose designs that would fit your wall paint which is wonderful. -www.jrproductsinc.com
