If I never have to tape or paint ever again in my life I would be completely okay with that! I use to like to paint until we decided to paint every room in our new house besides the living room! But it was worth it! It looks so different and is gradually starting to feel like home! If you know me, you know I get attached to things very easily and I have no idea why! Growing up I hated staying at other girls' houses for sleepovers and stuff! I would always have the girls come to my house! I guess I have always been a home body! A couple years ago when Stefan and I moved out together it took me 2 weeks before I was no longer home sick then I lost my job a year later and we had to move out and I broke down! I did not want to leave that apartment! Now after 2 years living with my parents again its pretty hard! There are things I'm already starting to miss and its only been almost a week! (: but I'm getting there and I haven't hit the "home sick" feeling yet but I think it's coming!
Being a photographer, you would think I'm creative but I'm not, only when you put pretty people in front of me and hand me my camera then my mind is going a mile a minute with ideas but not decorating or anything like that! That's when Pinterest stepped in and made my decision making easier...sort of!
Yes, this idea I got from Pinterest! I love everything chevron right now! And when I thought why not put it on a wall somewhere I didn't think it would look this awesome!! I knew I didn't have the talent to do it myself so Lindsay, Eric, and my Dad stepped in and did it themselves while I was scrubbing the bathroom top to bottom! I'm in love with it! I can't stop staring at it!! (: (Please excuse the mess, we haven't fully unpacked yet and I was too lazy to move it, don't judge!)
I'm also loving this wall decals right now also in our dining room! I love all the different sayings Hobby Lobby has right now!
I looked at a couple different laundry rooms on Pinterest because I had NO idea what to do with the laundry room and I saw one on there that was coral and I LOVED it! Sooo....that's what we did!
we eventually want to put shelves on the wall above the washer and dryer! some rooms you will notice are still bare!
Our bathroom we redid too, but just paint and put stuff on the walls for now! This is what it looked like when we moved in...
And this is what it looks like now...
We are going to paint the cabinets in here too....
Our room was a pale white color...
The Franks actually redid our furniture for us! The headboard and the 2 dressers were actually dark forest green, obviously wouldn't match our bedroom and they look awesome now!!
This bedroom was purple...and we still have decorating to do, but we decided to make this room a spare bedroom for weekend when people have to stay after a night at the Tap! (: We plan on putting pictures up of all of our friends in here!! (:
We have a 3rd bedroom but we changed it into the computer room/office because it's SO small and plus we don't have another bed to put in it so we have my computer in there! It will be nice to get away when I need to work on my pictures!
Besides the chevron wall, the kitchen is my favorite makeover! (: This is what the kitchen looked like when we moved in...
I like yellow, but not that bright! So Sam and I repainted the walls! (: I have always told Stefan we will never have oak cabinets! I think they look too old school for me SO because we are now broke, instead of replacing the cabinets my Dad, with a tiny bit of help from Me & Lindsay, redid them for us and he did an amazing job!!
I found adhesive liner at Target and decided to put it in the back of the cabinets to add something different!
Hen Dog was right there the whole time (:
I'm seriously SO in love with it! We still have to buy knobs and handles and a little bit more decorating but other than that the kitchen is finished! (:
I really do like all the counter space we have!
My favorite part of the kitchen is my aprons hanging on the wall!! (:
We decided to not touch the living room! We liked the way it looked so we changed everything else! We just got our new furniture last night and we love it! After seeing the furniture in the living room though we are thinking about painting it! :( I'M SO TIRED OF PAINTING!!! But we feel like it needs more color, but we are putting bigger and more pictures up as soon as we get our wedding pictures back!! (:
We aren't quit finished with everything yet as you can see, although I wish we were but my patient husband keeps telling me "God didn't create the world in 1 day" he's right (the only time I will ever admit he is right on my blog) so I keep telling myself its going to take time!
Thank you everyone that helped us last week with painting and moving in! You guys made it a lot easier for us and we won't be able to thank you enough! Some night we will have you all back over for dinner (:

Hi Kelsey! First if all, congratulations! I am so happy for you and Stefan! I check your blog often and I so enjoy reading about what you are doing! I loved this post, however, because in the last week and a half, I ripped out the carpeting in most of my house and painted two rooms...all by myself. My question is this: Does your family hire out? You all got a lot accomplished! Enjoy your new home! Heather Schwarting
